The palace stands on the famous "Zeile" in the middle of the legendary Untermarkt, the heart of the old town. A market hall is mentioned here as early as the beginning of the 14th century, which was demolished in 1706 and replaced by a new building. A few years later, the "Börse" was given its striking portal with gable figures and cartouche. Until 2003, the people of Görlitz exchanged vows in the building, then the registry office moved to the town hall, and the Baroque building was renovated in keeping with its original details and converted into a small, stylishly designed hotel. The rooms are named after major European cities and are comfortably and stylishly furnished. A uniform design was deliberately avoided, and instead each room was designed as an individual little gem.
